New partnership expands coordinated community services across Lanark County while preserving each organization’s local identity
August 31, 2026 (Almonte, ON) — Tayside Community Residential and Support Options is joining the Lanark Community Alliance (LCA), expanding a locally led partnership that helps community organizations strengthen services for children, adults, seniors, and families across Lanark County.
Ontario nonprofits are managing rising demand alongside workforce shortages, growing administrative requirements, and sustained funding pressure. LCA’s shared governance, executive leadership, and centralized services give member organizations greater capacity to respond—without giving up their legal independence, programs, identities, or community relationships.
Tayside, established in 1989, provides developmental services, licensed childcare, affordable housing, and individualized supports that help children, adults, and families live with greater independence and opportunity. It will remain an independent legal entity while gaining access to LCA’s shared expertise and operational support.
“Joining LCA allows us to build on everything that makes Tayside special while benefiting from the experience and support of partners who share our commitment to helping people thrive,” said Kim O’Connor, Executive Director, Tayside Community Residential and Support Options. “This partnership strengthens Tayside while allowing us to remain focused on what matters most: the children, adults, and families who rely on our services every day.”
“The needs of the people we support continue to grow, and so do the challenges facing local nonprofits,” said Robert Eves, Chief Executive Officer of the Lanark Community Alliance. “LCA was created so local non-profits could draw on each other’s strengths and share the resources they need to thrive, while continuing to do what they do best: serving people. We’re proud to welcome Tayside and excited about what we’ll accomplish together.”
Services will continue without interruption. Tayside will join LCA through a phased implementation plan, with regular updates provided to employees, families, community partners, and funders throughout the transition.
